Court Date Tomorrow

We found out this morning that we will be going to court tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. That means that by the time you get up on Friday we will (hopefully)be the official parents of Cal. We are now preparing our speeches and photo albums for the hearing. We will have a different judge than we originally thought. The judge who usually hears these cases has had a family emergency. She is the chief judge so she appointed the judge that will be hearing our case. She apparently will be in the office tomorrow but out all next week. This is why Gulnara pushed to have our court day moved up 3 days.
This will probably not affect our departure date from Kazakhstan. There are still many things that have to take place after the 15 day post-court waiting period is over.
We are very excited to get this official part of the process over. What a nice way to start our weekend.
I've included the last "official" photo to show the judge. I have also included a couple of pictures of the American Grill where we get great (fast & free) wireless internet.
Tomorrow we have court in Esik. Saturday we go back to the baby house in
Almaty. Saturday night we are taking Mac and Alina to the circus. We have a busy weekend planned.
Wish us luck!
Alison

Alison and Ken, this is so exciting! I know this is a big step in the process, and a thrilling one, and I'm so glad it's going to be earlier than you had thought. All the pictures should be a great asset at the hearing since they obviously show how well Cal has adjusted and what a great family he has now.
It's nice to finally get to see pictures of the American Grill where you spend time, and which does look so "American!"
Have a wonderful weekend!
Love,
Aunt Faye
Best of luck at court today! I hope the rest of your time passes quickly so you can get back home. It looks like you all are making some wonderful memories with Alina, Mac & Cal! Love to all...
