Mini-milestone-halfway point :-)

Today our dossier has been at the Kaz NY consulate for 30 days. That is half of the 60 day mandatory wait. We have been told by our adoption coordinator that our dossier would be released from the consulate in mid-July and go back to Kazakhstan. She then said that we would received our referral "shortly thereafter". The way she said it made me feel that as soon as the Ministry of Education has our paperwork we will get a referral.

30 days down, 30 to go (for this phase, whew!)

I've included a rare family photo. We were out in Chattanooga enjoying a dinner before attending the Riverbend festival. The kids got their first Hank Willimas Jr. experience. The other photo is the kids at their first swim meet.

You never realize how much your relatives look alike until you unexpectedly see a photo of one of them and for a split second think "Hey, that's me! No, wait, it's my mom. No, wait, it's Ken!"

Seeing those two swimmers made my heart do a butterfly! It's a great picture, and I love that all of you are continuing a family tradition.
